Starting Pay: $18.82 - $20.93/hour
Status: Full-Time | Immediate Hire

Schedule: Open availability required, including all shifts, weekends, and holidays.

About the Role:

As an Intermodal Equipment Operator, you will be an essential part of our logistics team, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of shipping containers in our intermodal yard. You will operate specialized equipment—such as hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loaders—to load, unload, and relocate containers, ensuring timely freight movement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment to load and unload shipping containers from railcars and trucks.

  • Drive hostlers to effectively position containers and chassis within the yard.

  • Utilize top loaders, side loaders, and cranes to stack, move, and organize containers safely.

  • Conduct equipment inspections before and after use to maintain operational safety.

  • Coordinate moves and tasks through effective communication with yard personnel and supervisors.

  • Uphold a safe work environment by strictly following established protocols and safety procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment or machinery in a logistics or industrial environment preferred.
  • Strong commitment to safety and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic communication skills and ability to collaborate as a team player.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and stairs, including on railcars.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background verification, physical, and drug screening.

The Federal Rail Administration mandates strict safety regulations for railroad operations. Use of cannabis is prohibited. Successful candidates will undergo a drug screening as part of the hiring process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in intermodal or rail yard operations.
  • Familiarity with container handling equipment, such as hostlers, top loaders, or cranes.
  • CDL or equipment certifications are beneficial but not required.
