JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
  • Production General Operator in the Synthomer Inc. Chemical Manufacturing Plant located in Mogadore, Ohio.
  • $21.64/hr to start.
  • Cleaning of chemical plant equipment and packaging of finished products.
  • Shift work based on seniority - 40 hrs/week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Miscellaneous cleaning including, but not limited to, tanks, tank cars, polymerization vessels.
  • Use fork truck to transfer pallets containing bags of raw materials to mezzanine.
  • Record basic data in written and/or electronic format.
  • Transfer product through proper lines by identifying correct line and completing hookups.
  • Visually check lines, connections, and bleed off valves before, during and after transfer.
  • Accurately package and label product in totes and drums.
  • Know tank capacities for work area.
  • Transfer finished product to various packaging.
  • Support compliance efforts – RCMS, ISO, PSM, OSHA, etc.
  • Manage time to effectively perform multiple job tasks safety and accurately.
  • Immediately notify Supervisor of any problems.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills to Communicate with various levels of individuals throughout the organization.
  • Complete logs, batch sheets, and other required paperwork.
  • SAP transactions, shift relief, shift logs.
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Attend training as required.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to work various shifts, including off shift or swing shift as required.
  • Follow all EHS policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, and Production.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent - 2 years’ experience in manufacturing a plus.
  • Pride and ownership in work; positive attitude is a must.
  • Average to above average skill level in the following areas: Reading, Applied Mathematics, Applied Technology, Locating Information, Observation, Teamwork.
  • Able to handle up to fifty (50) pounds and physical dexterity to assemble and operate polymerization reactors.
  • Ability to follow instructions, record data.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers.
  • Motivated to learn new tasks, new concepts, new applications, etc.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, E-Mail).
  • Ability to work at heights and walk on grating.
  • Work in various climates (indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions).
  • Stand and walk throughout assigned shift.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and other required PPE.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements of position.
  • Familiar with ISO-9001 and Process Safety Management a plus.
