Summary

TheVirtual Visit Providerdelivers high-quality, patient-centered care through telehealth services in a fast-paced urgent care environment. This role involves evaluating and treating a broad spectrum of non-emergent conditions remotely, including minor injuries andinfections.Providers conduct virtual consultations, prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests when appropriate, and ensure accurate documentation in the EMR. They collaborate with clinical support teams to maintain continuity of care and uphold clinical standards, while navigating technology platforms efficiently and adhering to organizational protocols. Success in this role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to the overall goals of access, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct virtual urgent care visits, evaluating and treating patients with non-emergent conditions

  • Operating hours are 9a-9p including weekends. Hours may change, to be determined by the entity.

  • Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver timely, patient-centered care while maintaining clinical excellence

  • Document all patient interactions accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR)

  • Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests in accordance with clinical protocols and licensure

  • Collaborate with clinical support teams to ensure seamless patient care and follow-up

  • Participate in onboarding, training, and continuing education to maintain clinical competencies

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state licensure regulations, and organizational policies

  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives and contribute to performance improvement efforts

  • Provide patient education and guidance on treatment plans, medication usage, and preventive care

  • Support organizational goals by promoting access, efficiency, and patient satisfaction in virtual care delivery

Qualifications

  • Provider Location & Billing: All virtual providers must reside in PA. Billing will be routed through the nearest physical Urgent Care center to the provider’s home. If CMS regulations change post 9/30/2025, provider must be willing to register their home address with payer enrollment for patient billing or provider must be willing to work all video visit encounters in center. (this will be reflected in your Employment agreement as well). The notification period for such a change may be minimal based on communication in past years from CMS.

  • Active medical license in applicable states (PA)

  • Licensure Requirements: Providers must be licensed in PA and must apply for WV license during credentialing with a requirement to obtain duallicensures within 4 months of hire.

  • Clinical experience in the fields ofUrgent Care, Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine

  • Experience with telehealth patient care and platforms

Preferred:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in an urgent/emergency care setting

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of urgent care protocols, common acute conditions, and evidence-based treatment guidelines

  • Telehealth Proficiency: Skilled in using virtual care platforms, video conferencing tools, and remote diagnostic workflows

  • EMR Documentation: Ability to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in electronic medical records

  • Patient Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build rapport, explain diagnoses, and guide treatment plans remotely

  • Decision-Making: Sound clinical judgment and the ability to make timely decisions in a virtual environment with limited physical assessment

  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of HIPAA, state licensure requirements, and telehealth regulations to ensure legal and ethical practice

  • Technology Adaptability:Comfort with troubleshooting basic tech issues and adapting to new digital tools and updates

  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with remote clinical support teams, including medical assistants and support staff

  • Professionalism & Integrity: Commitment to maintaininghigh standards of patient confidentiality, ethical conduct, and alignment with organizational values

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to remain in a seated and/or stationary position for extended periods of time in a remote work environment

  • Reliable internet connection and private workspace

  • register their home address for billing, or
  • resign with no notice period or payout for same.
