DESCRIPTION

Devices & Services Trust, Privacy and Accessibility (TPA) organization is responsible for maintaining and raising the trust bar for Amazon customers across a diverse set of 30+ Devices and Services (D&S). We offer horizontal services for builders and customer-facing capabilities that provides customers to address trust needs of our global customers and to ensure compliance.

The DSTPA team is looking for an experienced Trust by Design leader who can drive technical product strategy for privacy and trust across Amazon's devices and services portfolio, navigate complex and novel customer trust scenarios independently, build scalable frameworks for emerging technologies like GenAI/Ambient Computing, and influence cross-functional stakeholders while delivering innovative solutions that balance customer trust, user experience, and business objectives across our global customer base. As a Sr. PMT, you will be responsible for designing, strategizing, executing, and prioritizing initiatives that enhance user transparency and control over their data, and leading with confidence in ambiguous situation and using both analytical data and user feedback to continuously improve the experience.

Key job responsibilities
  • Develop horizontal product strategies that ensures alignment across multiple product teams across Amazon, balancing user privacy, business objectives, and regulatory compliance.
  • Navigate complex trust scenarios independently and make autonomous decisions balancing customer trust, UX, and business needs.
  • Lead novel customer trust problems demonstrating end to end ownership during Trust by Design reviews. This includes risks identification; proposing mitigation recommendations, product requirements, and acceptance criteria to product teams; and reviewing and validating CX/UX before review closure.
  • Negotiate the remediation approach and acceptance criteria with leadership, support development of remediation plan with partner organizations, and ensure we meet our deadlines and commitments.
  • Accelerate our ability to meet our customer trust commitments by coordinating with product teams on developing and landing on short, medium, and long term strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, consumer insights, data science, and legal to build highly impactful products.
  • Support product teams across D&S in navigating complex trade offs in their decision making.
  • Execute effectively in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are operationalized at a very fast pace.
  • Identify and execute upon opportunities to create centralized tooling and systems that helps the Trust by Design function to move fast while meeting our obligations.
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to improve the culture and capacity of the Trust by Design team across D&S.

A day in the life
In this role, no two days are the same — and that’s by design. You will spend a good part of your time engaging with a wide range of cross-functional partners across engineering, legal, policy, risk, science, UX, and other product teams to gather insights, clarify trust requirements, and uncover both issues and opportunities.

You’ll participate in frequent brainstorming sessions to shape new ideas, solve complex trust problems, and design fixes that address not just immediate needs, but also set us up for long-term success. Staying connected is key: you’ll attend cross-org syncs to stay informed on evolving strategies and dependencies, while also representing your work in key forums.

You’ll help drive the D&S product teams forward by scheduling trust forums, writing opinion papers to discuss Hotly Debated Topics within the product or CX to senior leaders — including VPs and SVPs — and ensuring what we build is responsible, innovative, and aligned with our broader vision of trust and customer impact.

Trust Fundamentals Operations (TrustFunOps) is a “horizontal” organization responsible for building technologies, programs, and services at Amazon scale that instill and grow customer trust, create mechanisms to confidently attain existing and ever-evolving regulatory objectives, and ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of our business partners and stakeholders to meet their trust obligations without disruption — in that order of priority. Within TrustFunOps, Trust by Design function empowers teams within Devices & Services to deliver trusted, privacy-forward, and accessible experiences to our customers by providing proactive, risk-intelligent guidance with closed-loop validation. TrustFunOps is dedicated to supporting new members. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience managing technical products or online services
  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working directly with engineers on product enhancements
  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
  • Privacy and Trust Understanding, Consumer Product, Data strategy, AI domain expertise
  • Must be a good human
  • Must work well with others and be a team player, have high moral standards, lead with integrity and empathy

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market.
