As a Development Intern at Hulu, you will experience the day-to-day efforts of a streaming network documentary development department. You will gain a solid perspective of that market and the industry overall. As a member of the Originals team, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with all Original Content sub-teams including Post and Production, in addition to members of the Marketing, PR, Legal, Business Affairs, Finance and Data teams. The ideal candidate for this opportunity likes to think critically and strategically, is intellectually curious, attentive to detail, thrives in an undefined environment, and employs a proactive approach to problem solving. If selected for this role, you will report directly to the Senior Manager, Documentaries.What You Will Do• Work alongside Documentary executives on assignments as needed• Track, organize, and manage incoming documentary submissions and materials on past and current shows in partnership with Development executives and assistant• Assist in building and maintaining competitive industry tracking documents, developing an understanding of the documentary and nonfiction industry• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure they have the latest nonfiction creative updates and information• Assist with reviewing creative materials and providing strong written feedback• Research and track potential IP for potential developmentRequired Qualifications & Skills• Passion for media and entertainment, with a focus on Documentary features or limited series• Exceptional organizational skills and efficient time management• Proven ability to take on multiple projects at a given time• Can-do, proactive attitude and positive, collaborative demeanor• Outstanding written and verbal communication capabilities, as well as attention to detailPreferred Qualifications• Previous television extracurricular/internship experience• An interest in pursuing a career in documentary developmentEducation• Senior year preferred• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in TV & Film, Journalism, Communications, or related subjectEligibility Requirements & Program InformationCandidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.• Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.• Be at least 18 years of age• Possess unrestricted work authorizationAdditional Required Documents• A cover letter indicating your interest in the Hulu Originals Documentary Development Intern, Summer/Fall 2025 position is required.Additional Information• Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship• The approximate dates of this internship are June 2025 through December 2025• Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm PT for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week• Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, California area• Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from workThe pay rate for this internship in California is $22.00 per hour.
